Voyage (K-2nd) and Ignition (3rd-4th)
We want your elementary student to experience God in a safe, creative, and fun way. That’s why we offer a variety of weekly opportunities for your child to connect with peers, small group leaders, and you! On Sundays we present God’s word through small and large group learning activities. Elementary ministry uses ReThink’s 252 Basics curriculum which strategically focuses on three basic truths:
- I need to make the WISE choice.
- I can TRUST God no matter what.
- I should treat OTHERS the way I want to be treated.
We want each student to know and apply those three basic truths to their life just like Jesus did in Luke 2:52. The scripture says, “Jesus grew in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and others.” That’s why each week you’ll hear us reinforce those three basic truths through teaching stories from God’s word and focusing on a practical virtue and memory verse each month. We want your child to grow in WISDOM, in FAITH, and in their RELATIONSHIPS.
We’ll do this every week through 3 basic elements of your child’s Sunday morning experience:
- Plug In – When a child arrives each week, they head straight to their small groups for plug-in. This is where kids connect by grade level with their small group leaders and peers to get a preview of the lesson they’ll be learning each week. Just like a light has to be connected to a power source before it can shine, we think kids need to be connected to each other and Christ before they can have that same light bulb experience.
- Large Group – We subdivide elementary students into 2 groups for their Large Group experience. Voyage: K-2nd, Ignition: 3rd-4th. In their age appropriate large group rooms they’ll be greeted by a morning host, hear God’s word presented creatively by a storyteller, and participate actively in authentic worship.
- Small Group – This is the heartbeat of our ministry. After large group your child will reconnect with their small group to review the Bible story, memorize God’s word, and pray as a group. We want your child to be deeply connected with a group of peers so they can ask the hard questions and discover a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s why we ask you as a family to commit to regularly attending one service so your child can build those deep, meaningful relationships.
In the big scheme of things we know that what happens at home is WAY more important than what happens on Sundays, so know as a parent that we want to do all we can to support you. That’s why we have a whole parent resource page dedicated to you so you can take it home. Each week you’ll find resources to connect what your kids are learning on Sunday morning with whatever’s going on with your family.
